The Story
Inspired by Matthew
A few months ago, our family met a man named Matthew.
What started as a conversation about a hat quickly became one of the most meaningful interactions our family has had in years.
Our namesake, Jude, is diagnosed with Autism, level 2. Like many parents, we often wonder what the future will look like for him.
Matthew shared stories about his life, his friends, movie nights, book clubs, dinners, and the community he has built around himself. As we listened, we realized something:
Matthew wasn't telling us about a future we hoped for. He was living it.
Before we left, Matthew asked where he could buy the hat my husband was wearing. The truth was, he couldn't because it was a one-of-a-kind design by JJP.
So we made an extra one for Matthew.
And then we decided to make a few more.
