Lucy’s Spina Bifida Journey: Speed, Sass, and Strength on Wheels

If there’s one thing to know about Lucy, it’s this: she’s fast, fearless, and absolutely running the show.

Born with Myelomeningocele Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus, bilateral clubbed feet, hip dysplasia, and dislocated knees, Lucy’s journey started with more challenges than most will ever know. Doctors have shared that she will most likely not be able to walk, but Lucy has already begun showing the world that limitations won’t define her story.

At just two years old, she is already working tirelessly to figure out how to move, explore, and experience life on her own terms. And she’s doing it in the most Lucy way possible… full of determination, personality, and a whole lot of sass.

Most days, you’ll find her in her wheelchair and not just sitting still. Lucy is a speed demon. She takes off with confidence, doing laps and navigating her world like she owns it because in so many ways, she does. Every turn of her wheels is a reminder that mobility doesn’t look just one way, and neither does strength.

She is spunky. She is beautiful. And she carries a presence that feels far bigger than her tiny frame.

Her family doesn’t know exactly what the future will hold for her mobility, and the truth is, they don’t need to. Because Lucy has already shown them who she is: a fighter, a force, and a little girl who is going to continue to shock and surprise everyone lucky enough to watch her grow.

There’s something about Lucy that makes you pause. Maybe it’s the way she moves through the world with such confidence. Maybe it’s the joy she brings into every space she enters. Or maybe it’s the quiet understanding that she is here to change the way we see strength altogether.

Lucy isn’t waiting for the world to catch up to her.
She’s already moving fast, fearless, and full of life.

And if you ask us? She’s not just going to navigate this world… She’s going to rule it.
