Faces of World Down Syndrome Day: Meet Carter, Niyah, & Family

Carter, Niyah, and Audie are three siblings whose personalities shine in beautifully different ways. Carter, 12, is a huge fan of Broadway musicals, especially The Lion King and Shrek. When he’s not enjoying the magic of theater, you’ll often find him happily swinging, one of his favorite simple joys.

Niyah, also 12, is nonspeaking and expresses herself through movement and music. She loves to rock, dance, and listen to her favorite songs on repeat lately, which means plenty of Britney Spears playing throughout the house.

Their younger sister Audie, 8, brings her own spark to the trio. She’s sassy, spunky, and full of energy, with a big love for gymnastics that perfectly matches her vibrant personality.

Together, they fill their world with rhythm, joy, and a whole lot of personality.
